Realized in collaboration with the Pera Museum and The Cecil Beaton Studio Archive at Sotheby’s the exhibition Cecil Beaton: Portraits included portraits of artists, movie stars, writers, intellectuals and royalty between 1920s and 1970s by Cecil Beaton (1904-1980). The exhibition shed light on a number of fascinating and previously unseen works.
Along with some previously unpublished photographs, the exhibition catalogue focuses on Cecil Beaton’s career who worked in a variety of media, ranging from painting, illustration, caricature, theatre and film costume design through comprehensive essays written by Terence Pepper, the exhibition curator, and Susanna Brown, Curator of Photography at V&A Museum.
