"Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst.”
~ Henri Cartier-Bresson
This was obviously not one of Henri’s first images as it great and iconic. Almost a Fellini moment. He tackled this subject, two sex workers in Mexico City, in an unobtrusive and non-judgmental manner. It was an arena that not many photographers had attempted to document before. What makes it stand out was that Henri photographed them not as prostitutes but just as women posing for a portrait, a double portrait at that with a deep human perception and understanding of which he was a master.
