Bert Hardy was one of the star photographers of “Picture Post” the UK ’s equivalent of “Life Magazine”. It was the way most people learnt about the world in the era before widespread television and indeed the internet. Sugar Ray, one of the century’s great boxers, loved cars and always had it written into his fighting contracts that the promoter would always have a Pink Cadillac available for him to drive around in. Here he is with his loving fans. Such pride and joy, a “knockout” image for sure.
