#1154 - Fred Lyon

"I see pictures I would like to take, I need another lifetime to photograph San Francisco. But my life has been so much fun I can't believe it. I keep thinking I'm being softened up for something really grim. And it hasn't happened yet."

~ Fred Lyon
(1924 - 2022)

ENQUIRE ABOUT THIS WORK

Fred Lyon was indeed a remarkable photographer whose work left an indelible mark on San Francisco. His photography wasn't just about capturing the city's landmarks but also about revealing its soul. Fred had a unique talent for encapsulating the essence of San Francisco in his images, showcasing its charm, character, and the human stories embedded within its streets.

A great man and a great photographer. We still miss him today.

There is a fantastic documentary on Fred, Fred Lyon: Living Through the Lens. It originally premiered on PBS, and is an intimate exposé of the artist. I highly suggest you all to watch it! You will find the link to watch below.
