ENQUIRE ABOUT THIS WORK
Ansel Adams is undoubtedly one of the greatest photographers of all time. Today we are lucky to enjoy his beautiful silver gelatin prints that grace our world. A master printer, each print is a record of his skill and patience to capture the perfect light, shadow, vistas and profound emotions stirred by the magnificence of the American landscape.
In 1980, President Jimmy Carter paid tribute to Ansel by awarding him the Presidential Medal of Freedom, with this inspiring statement, “At one with the power of the American landscape, and renowned for the patient skill and timeless beauty of his work, photographer Ansel Adams has been a visionary in his efforts to preserve this country’s wild and scenic areas, both on film and on Earth. Drawn to the beauty of nature’s monuments, he is regarded by environmentalists as a monument himself, and by photographers as a national institution. It is through his foresight and fortitude that so much of America has been saved for future Americans.”
Very much agreed, President Carter.
