Danny Lyon’s “The Bike Riders” is one of the greatest photo documentary essays ever produced. I must confess I have not ever been for a ride on a Harley but I have always been caught up in the drama of this story, and it’s cast of characters that could never have been dreamt up. It is both gritty and deeply human and this is the key image from the story. You are just on the bike with him going along into his adventure.
