“I’m known for fashion photography but in America, kids would go to college and get out and buy a second hand car and go across the country and discover America. I never did that. I went from New York to Paris and New York was my America”
~ William Klein
(1928-2022)
ENQUIRE ABOUT THIS WORK
William felt frustrated working in the studio this day. He felt confined and needed to get out of there realizing his creative juices were just not flowing. So out he went taking his celebrated models with him and playing with mirrors. Isabella Albonico was center. On the left was the great Evelyn Tripp and on the right was Neena Von Schlebrugge, the mother of actress Uma Thurman.
Models loved working with Bill. He certainly brought out the best of them. The fashion photo gods were smiling down on him that day and the result is one of the most inventive fashion photographs of the 1960’s. Enjoy!
