“I was very sensitive to poverty, to children and people in need. I probably had a more compassionate way of looking at things”

ENQUIRE ABOUT THIS WORK

Sabine had boundless energy and creativity right up to the end of her life. It’s probably too simplistic to categorize her just as a “humanist” photographer. Her long and productive career covered many genres both in her commissioned work but also in her widely ranging personal work. A true force of nature. I miss being around her.

Sabine's images are also included in our exhibition, “Her: The Great Women Photographers” on view until November 23rd, 2024. “Her: The Great Women Photographers” features a selection of images from some of the greatest women photographers from across the world. Artists will include Lillian Bassman, Sarah Moon, Ruth Bernhard, Julia Margaret Cameron, Cig Harvey, Bernice Abbott, Brigitte Carnochan, Judy Dater, Eve Arnold, Doris Ullmann, Martine Franck, Flor Garduno, Judy Glickman Lauder, Nikki Kahn, Lilo Raymond, Ilona Langbroek, Grace Robertson, Anastasia Samoylova, and Sabine Weiss, amongst others. We can't wait for you to join us for the exhibition.
