#1390 - Henri Cartier-Bresson

“Life is once, forever"

~ Henri Cartier-Bresson
(1908 - 2004)

India held a deep fascination for Henri as it has for so many photographers since photography was first “invented” back in the 1860’s. Henri made six significant trips there during his long and productive career.

A group of school boys, crowded together under a large crumbling mural of a regal elephant. Most of the boys are diligently studying their books but if you look carefully one of the students is suddenly distracted from his studies and looks boldly over the top of his book and peers at the camera of the celebrated visiting photographer. I wonder if he knew how great a photographer he was!
