#1337 - William Klein

“The kinetic quality of New York, the kids, the dirt, the madness - I tried to find a photographic style that would come close to it. So I cropped, blurred, played with the negatives”

~ William Klein

Perhaps as an immigrant myself this is the Bill Klein image I have related to the most personally. In a single frame it encapsulates the multiple feelings I get when I take myself on a little trip on the Staten Island Ferry in New York.I am sure I am not alone in this respect. It is just one of the most amazing experiences you can have in New York and it never fails to deliver it’s emotional punch, no matter how many times you have done it.

This is not just a photograph but is an epic inter-generational novel unfurling in front of your eyes.
