There is no great photographer quite like Gregori Maiofis. He has made a trained bear one of his greatest subjects of all time. Although Gregori did not train the animal himself it's not surprising how similar photographing and bear training can be. Both require specialized knowledge, patience, and a deep understanding of animal (and human!) behavior. But it's the formation of a trusting relationship based on mutual respect that has to occur for the animal to be trained and for the photographer to catch a great photograph of ones subject.
