There is a specific type of love between a child and their dog that our friend Pentti captures here so beautifully. Long before the biology of our deep and wonderful friendships was understood, we knew that our bonds with dogs was special. The saying “We can’t live without them!” may not be literally true, but most of us certainly could not live happily without them. A cheers to "man's best friend".
