#959 - Arthur Elgort

“A good editor, a good stylist and a good model are what makes a good fashion photograph. That and having a good rapport with your subject. If they are comfortable with you they’ll be comfortable in front of your camera”

~ Arthur Elgort

“Being the muse of the photographer is what I like about this profession”

~ Nadja Auermann

Arthur Elgort was restless to get out of the restrictions of a photo studio and keen to be outdoors into nature or into the street. He felt it freed him up to let his vision flow more easily. There is a magic lightness to his images and a credible naturalness. It is not just an image of someone trying to sell a product. There is such a beauty to be found in the Irish Country side. The grass has just been cut and you can smell it and feel you are on a walk with the wonderful Nadjja Auermann. Of course she is not your typical farmer as she carries a bundle of grass in one hand and she is not wearing a typical farmer’s working clothes. She is in Calvin Klein at the height of his creative designs for British Vogue. Enjoy.
