Born in 1932, Herb Snitzer is an american photographer whose career spans over fifty years dedicated to the photographic medium. In 1957, he graduated from the Philadelphia College of Art and made his way to New York City. While working at Metronome, as a Photography and Associate Editor, he gained access to photograph some of the greatest names in jazz, such as: Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Nina Simone, and Count Basie, to name a few. He's also worked for the prestigous magazines: Life, New York Times, Fortune, and Times.
Snitzer's work is held by The Museum of Modern Art, Houston Museum of Fine Arts and Boston Museum of African American History, and many private collectors.
